Knitting Guild

Date
  • February 15, 2010
  • This event occurs on the third Monday of every month from February 15, 2010 to July 19, 2010.
Description
  • Anybody who loves to knit, or would love to learn, is welcome to join. There is a $15/year membership fee. We meet the third Monday of every month at 6 pm in the Lower Room (beneath Colbun Hall).

The first half hour there are experienced knitters available to help with any difficulties you may be having on a project. At 6:30 there is a program presented on a different topic each month. Every year we choose a different charity project. This year there is a committee that is working on trimming a Christmas tree to be auctioned by Spartanburg Regional Hospice. We are also making blankets for children who are in need, or have been removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect. These blankets are going to be made up of squares in primary colors. We will be learning a new skill for each square we knit; these skills will be taught during the monthly meetings. Charlene Moore has agreed to be our liaison to distribute these blankets where they can best be used. This has the potential of being a great outreach to our community.

Come join the fun! For more information call 590-1196.
